New Delhi: Three judges have been selected as judges of the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court consists of 34 judges including the Chief Justice. However, for the past few months, 3 posts of judges were lying vacant. Subsequently, the Supreme Court collegium started searching for new judges to fill the vacant posts.
Subsequently, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended Delhi High Court Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, Rajasthan High Court Chief Justice Augustine George and Guwahati High Court Chief Justice Sandeep Mehta to the Central Government on the 6th. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Maghwal announced on his X page today that the Supreme Court’s recommendation has been accepted.
Accordingly, all three will take office this evening. After they take office, the Supreme Court will regain its full strength. Earlier last February, the Supreme Court was at full strength. It is to be noted that the two vacant posts of Judges were filled by Judges Rajesh Bindal and Arvind Kumar.
