They were arrested by the Economic and Cyber Crime Prevention Department of the Qatar General Directorate of Criminal Investigation. T-shirts and hats emblazoned with the official logo of the FIFA World Cup were seized from them. They created these accounts on social media and sold them.

Officials had earlier said that nothing could be done without clear permission for everything related to the World Cup logo and other promotions for the World Cup.
