DeskDespite the initial sluggishness in the stock market, there was a tremendous jump during Thursday’s trading session. After Thursday’s trading session, the Sensex closed at 75,418.04 with a gain of 1,196.98 (1.61%) points. On the other hand, the Nifty closed at 22,967.65 with a jump of 354.66 (1.57%) points.
During this period, Sensex and Nifty reached their new all-time high. Sensex reached a new high of 75,499.91. Nifty also reached 22,993.60 for the first time. During the trading session, NSE Nifty reached its new all-time high and crossed the level of 22900 for the first time. On the other hand, Sensex also crossed the level of 75000 once again with a strong rise.
After Thursday’s trading session, both benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty closed with a gain of more than 1.50%. On the day of weekly expiry in the stock market, private bank shares showed strength. Nifty Private Bank Index jumped 473.80 (2.00%) points to reach the level of 24,203.95 on Thursday. On the other hand, Nifty Bank Index jumped 986.65 (2.06%) points to close at 48,768.60.

Ignoring Fed officials’ concerns over the lack of progress on inflation in the Fed minutes released on Wednesday, investors chose to focus on the bumper Rs 2.1 lakh crore dividend announced by India’s central bank for the government. As a result, the Sensex jumped over 1,100 points to hit a new high above 75,400, while the Nifty also rose over 1% to a new all-time record high of 22,900-level.
