The “Al-Ahly Youth Karate” team won the title of the Emirates Championship for individual “Kumite” competitions, within the open championship competitions, with 12 colored medals (seven golds, two silvers and three bronzes), as part of the junior and even youth competitions for males, which took place the day before yesterday at the Club Hall. Sharjah Sports (Al-Hazana Branch), with the participation of 225 players from 20 clubs and centers at the level of the game.
The seven gold medals gave the karate teams in Al-Ahly youth the lead in the general standings, at the expense of the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club, which came second with a total of 19 colored medals (six golds, seven silvers and six bronzes), while the Sharjah Sports Club came third with 19 colored medals (five gold, eight silver and six bronze).
The closing ceremony and the coronation of the champions were attended by the Secretary-General of the Karate Federation, Hamid Shams, a member of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Sports Club, head of the individual games department in the club, Suleiman Al-Hajri, a member of the Board of Directors of the Karate Federation, Muhammad Harbuk, and the technical director of the Federation, expert Hisham Sirri.
