Shabab Al-Ahly won the “UAE Super” Handball Cup for the first time in its history, after defeating Sharjah with a score of (22-21), yesterday, at the Maliha Club hall.
Shabab Al-Ahly waited until the eighth edition to win the “UAE Super Cup”, putting an end to the dominance of Sharjah, which had won the title of the past six editions, knowing that the title of the first edition went to Al Jazira in the 2016-2017 season.
Shabab Al-Ahly qualified to represent the country in the sixth edition of the “Emirati-Bahraini Super Cup”, during which it will meet the “Super Cup” champion in Bahrain, at a date to be determined later.
The start of the match was close, with the tie continuing throughout the first 20 minutes, before “The King” was able to end the first half with a two-goal lead, with a score of (11-9).
With the start of the second half, Shabab Al-Ahly was able to adjust the score and keep up with Sharjah until the last minutes, which recorded superiority for the “Knights of the Hand” in terms of performance and success in snatching victory by a single goal with a score of (22-21).
At the conclusion of the match, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Handball Federation, Abdul Salam Rabie, crowned the champions, in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Maliha Club, Muhammad Al-Khasouni, and members of the Board of Directors of the Handball Federation.
