India won the toss and sent England to bat. England really capitalized on the opportunity to bat first. Danny Wyatt’s 47-ball 75 and Knuth Skiver Brunt’s 53-ball 77 led England to a mammoth score of 197/6. Renuka Singh shone for India by taking three wickets for 27 runs.

Chasing a huge target, India quickly lost the wickets of Smriti Mandana who scored six runs and Jemima Rodriguez who scored four runs. But on one side, Shafali led the Indian chase with a brilliant batting performance. But as none of the other batsmen were able to contribute in a big way, India was going behind in the match.

Shafali is India’s top scorer. The player scored 52 runs in 42 balls with the help of nine boundaries. At the end of the allotted 20 overs, Team India was 159/6. Sophie Ecclestone took three wickets for England.
