“Bollywood actor Mr. Shahrukh Khan called me. We both talked at around 2 am. He expressed regret over the incident that took place at the theater where his film was being screened in Guwahati. I told him that the state government will take care of the responsibility of maintaining law and order. I said that we will investigate the incident and ensure that such incidents do not recur,” the Chief Minister said in his tweet.
A group of protesters staged a protest yesterday at a theater where the movie ‘Pathan’ was going to be screened in Guwahati. They tore the posters of the movie as if they did not want to show that movie. A fight broke out when Shahrukh Khan’s fans tried to stop the protesters. This incident became a sensation throughout the state of Assam. However, the media questioned Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma about the ‘Pathan’ movie riots. CM Sharma responded to this.. “Who is Shah Rukh Khan? “I don’t know anything about him or the movie ‘Pathan’,” he said.
The media tried to remind us that Shah Rukh Khan is a Bollywood hero. Biswa also gave a sarcastic reply in his own style. He said that many people from Bollywood call him and tell him their problems.. But he said that no one has called him in the name of Shahrukh Khan so far. He said that if he calls and talks then he will try to find out who he is. However, the CM suggested that people of the state should watch Assamese films instead of Bollywood films. A few hours after the CM spoke to the media, he received a phone call from Shahrukh Khan.
Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Pathan’ is releasing on 25th of this month in many languages across the world. The song ‘Besharam Rang’ from this movie opened up a controversy a few days ago. In this song, Deepika Padukone wore a saffron bikini and hurt the sentiments of Hindus.
