The Khorfakkan Coliseum will witness this evening the opening ceremony of the second edition of the Sharjah International Youth Basketball Championship, organized by the Sharjah Sports Council in cooperation with the Jam Academy for Sports Events, with the participation of 23 teams representing 7 countries: the UAE, Egypt, Lebanon, India, Jordan, Spain and Serbia. The competition continues until Thursday.
The UAE is represented in the championship by the team of the central and eastern regions, consisting of Al-Bataeh, Maliha, Al Dhaid, Al Madam and Kalba players. The competitions are held in 4 categories, namely: under 16 years for boys and girls, under 12 and 14 years for boys, on the stadiums of club halls: Khorfakkan Sports, Khorfakkan for the Disabled, University of Sharjah and the Kalba Sports Club hall.
