“Sharjah Karate” wins the title of the Arab Championship in Kuwait

The Sharjah Karate team won the fifth Arab Clubs Championship for the “Kumite” category, and was crowned with the second place cup in the tournament hosted by Yarmouk Club in Kuwait. Eight players represented Sharjah in the tournament, led by Mohammed Al Ansari, the star of the UAE national team, and coach Moataz Abdel Salam. Engineer Suleiman Abdul Rahman Al-Hajri, member of the Sharjah Club Board of Directors and head of the Individual Games Department, said in a press statement: “The team presented the best and competed strongly, but luck was not with him in the final match after Muhammad Al-Ansari was injured, despite his prejudice to complete the match.” The performance of the players, the high spirit they displayed, and their strong defense of the slogan. He continued, “I watched the tournament on the ground, and saw the great levels presented by the players. The competition was at its highest level, especially since the tournament included international players.”
