Sharjah: Sharjah Police has signed an agreement with Etihad Railways, the UAE’s national railway network, to implement safety and security standards. The MoU was signed by His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander in Chief of Sharjah Police and Etihad Railway, and Mohammad Rashid Al Marzooqi, Executive Director of Etihad Rail Railway Sector, in the presence of senior officers of Sharjah Police and Etihad Railway.

The MoU mainly includes proposals to lay the foundation for joint strategic cooperation between the two parties and ensure security in all areas. A press release issued by Sharjah Police stated that more discussions and proposals will be organized in the coming days to more effectively implement security based on Federal Law No. (8) of 2020 related to the regulation of railways.

The railway network in the United Arab Emirates will be a major attraction of the emirate. Etihad Railway is one of the most important milestones in the development process and hence the project needs to be fully supported and assisted. Major General added.
