Sharjah suffered major arbitration injustice in the Al-Bataeh match

The coach of the Sharjah team, Romanian Cosmin Olario, directed sharp criticism at the referee of his team’s match against Al-Bataeh, which was held the day before yesterday, in the 21st round of the ADNOC Professional League, and ended in a positive draw (2-2), after the match was heading towards a 2-1 win for Sharjah before the match. That the referee of the match, Khaled Najem, award a penalty kick in stoppage time, from which Al-Bataeh scored the equalizing goal through the player Ahmed Khalil, considering that Sharjah was subjected to great arbitration injustice from the referee of the match, and that the wrong arbitration decisions were repeated more than once this season against Sharjah. Cosmin said in media statements after the match: “Frankly, I have no words to say, but for a match referee to reach this level and not be familiar with all the laws, this is a difficult matter, especially since he is a young referee and has a promising future.”

Cosmin spoke about the situation during which the referee awarded a penalty kick to Al-Bataeh, and said: “There was an error before the penalty kick was awarded, as Sharjah player Majed Sorour was beaten and fell to the ground. A corner kick should have been awarded, in addition to the expulsion of Al-Bataeh player Alvaro de Oliveira.”

On the other hand, the Sharjah coach revealed that his team played the match with many absences due to various circumstances, including injuries and suspensions, pointing out that the players who participated in the match tried to perform as much as possible, and that he was keen during this period to give all players the opportunity, stressing that “the young players “The team worked hard and deserved the best.”

Sharjah raised its score to 31 points in sixth place, while Al-Bataeh collected 26 points in seventh place.

Al-Bataeh’s Croatian coach, Goran Tomic, confirmed that his team played an outstanding match, as evidenced by the fact that the confrontation witnessed a closeness in level between the two teams, noting that his team had many opportunities to score, especially in the first half, but did not take advantage of them.

He said in a press conference after the match: “In the second half, many things happened and my team was able to return to the match and equalize the score.”
