Washington and its allies oppose the formation of a multipolar world in the Asia-Pacific region (APR), Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on April 28 at a meeting of defense ministers of the SCO member countries in New Delhi.
He noted that this was initiated by the creation of military-political blocs, such as the Indo-Pacific association QUAD and AUKUS.
In addition, according to the minister, the concept of a free and open Indo-Pacific region is being promoted, which implies the construction of a bloc system of interstate relations.
“A front is being formed to contain China. The so-called Taiwan problem is purposefully aggravated, territorial disputes in the South China and East China Seas are being heated up, ”Shoigu said.
Earlier, on April 15, former US Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers noted that the United States is losing global influence in the world due to the fact that other powers, in particular Russia and China, unite and win the favor of neutral countries.
The Washington Post wrote in March that the growing alliance between Russia and China is fraught with a restructuring of the world order, so the United States and its allies need to be prepared for such a development of events.
However, in the same month, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang noted that the development of Sino-American relations requires that the United States move towards China.
