Russian boxer Pavel Shulsky won a fight with American Jason Gavern in a unanimous fight of the REN TV Fight Club tournament on Friday, December 15.
In the first round, the opponents probed each other, testing each other’s weak points. In the second round, Gavern went on the attack, but ran into a decisive response from Shulsky. By the third round, commentators noted the general fatigue of the American.
The fight ended with Shulsky winning by unanimous decision.
Earlier that day, Shulsky spoke about what tactics he plans to use in the upcoming fight with American Jason Gavern. The fighter said that tactics are developed depending on the characteristics of the opponent, it is necessary to navigate the situation. At the same time, you can never count on a knockout, Shulsky noted.
A day earlier, boxer and State Duma deputy Nikolai Valuev said that Shulsky would have a difficult fight against the American. He wished the Russian athlete good luck and expressed hope that he would keep his distance so as not to allow his opponent to get close.
In total, four fights will take place at the REN TV Fight Club tournament, which takes place in Chelyabinsk. The fights will last four rounds of three minutes. The main fight will feature Russian boxer Maxim Babanin and American Kevin Johnson.
