In another video released on October 10, Pannoon, the head of the banned US-based Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), had said that they would attack India similarly to what they did against Israel. The video threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi to learn from the Israel-Palestine war.
Earlier, Pannu was listed as a terrorist by India in 2020 due to his involvement in various illegal activities. Later, his agricultural land was also confiscated.
Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who is now in the US, is accused in 22 criminal cases in Punjab, including the sedition case. India had asked Interpol to issue a Red Corner Notice against Pannun in October 2022.

However, Interpol rejected this demand citing lack of evidence. A case is currently pending against Pannun for issuing death threats against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Assam in April.
