In Yakutia, by the end of 2022, the reconstruction of airports in six regional centers should be completed. Repairs are underway at facilities in Belaya Gora, Vilyuysk, Deputatsky, Sangara, Khantyga and Neryungri.
The work is carried out within the framework of the federal program “Comprehensive plan for the modernization and expansion of the main infrastructure for the period up to 2024”, YakutiaMedia reports with reference to the republican government.
New facilities of auxiliary airport infrastructure are being built at the airports in Belaya Gora, Vilyuysk and Deputatsky. Airport terminals are being built in Sangar, Khandyga and Neryungri.
In 2019, changes were made to the program at the request of the head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev. It included the airports of Yakutsk, Mirny, Neryungri, Olekminsk, Nyurba, Chersky, Zhigansk, Khandyga, Belaya Gora, Verkhnevilyuysk, Vilyuysk, Deputatsky, Sangar, Polyarny and Ust-Nera. Work has already been completed in the Zhigansky and Verkhnevilyuisky districts. For example, a runway was reconstructed at Zhigansk Airport, and auxiliary airport infrastructure facilities were built in Verkhnevilyuysk.
At the remaining facilities, large-scale work on a comprehensive plan for the modernization and expansion of the main infrastructure continues. 38.6 billion rubles were allocated for this program from the federal budget, writes IA SakhaNews.
