Three people were said to have been injured in the incident at Albert Heijn, which took place just before ten o’clock. They are ‘possibly the victim of a stabbing incident’. “It is now being investigated,” said a police spokesman. The injured have since been taken to hospital and two people have been arrested. All five involved are said to be known to each other.
Four minutes later, a serious single-vehicle accident occurred on Nijverheidsweg with a car in which four people were sitting. Three of them were injured. One occupant was trapped and had to be freed by firefighters. An air ambulance was also deployed for assistance in the accident.
The spokesperson was not yet able to say whether the two incidents were related.
