Ski Dubai and Dubai Sports Council announced the opening of registration for the 15th edition of the Ice Obstacle Challenge Championship (Snow Challenge), which will be held on September 22nd. The championship is organized by Dubai Sports Council and Majid Al Futtaim at the Ski Dubai Snow Hall in Mall of the Emirates. Registration will continue until Thursday, September 19th.
“The race includes a variety of ice obstacles, ranging from 20 to 22, designed on a 3.5-kilometre track, allowing participants in this anticipated annual event to overcome a range of different challenges that add more intensity and excitement to the competition,” a press release from the Dubai Sports Council said.
Participants compete in climbing, rolling and running on ice in temperatures as low as four degrees below zero.
The Snow Challenge continues to attract participants from different age groups, men and women between the ages of 15 and 60, in three competitive categories: the Elite category, in which competition is limited to men and women who can complete the challenge in less than 25 minutes; the Individual category, open to mixed amateurs of all fitness levels; and the Team category, in which groups of five people participate and contribute to enhancing cooperation skills among team members and strengthening the bonds of their relationship to complete the challenge in the fastest time.
