Heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir will continue till February 5. On the other hand, due to fog in Kolkata, West Bengal, visibility was recorded at 500 meters.
An alert of heavy snowfall has been issued in the northern states of the country due to western disturbance. Many roads are closed due to snowfall in Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Snowfall ranging from 14 to 42 cm was recorded in Himachal Pradesh on Friday.
Dr. Naresh of the Meteorological Department (IMD) said that another western disturbance will be active from February 4. This will cause snowfall in these states. Apart from this, hail may fall in 8 states Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana on 3 and 4 February.
The minimum temperature in these 8 states remains between 7 to 10 degrees. Visibility remained low due to fog in Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Delhi on Saturday morning. Visibility was recorded at 50 meters in Delhi. Many flights and trains are late.
On the other hand, due to Western Disturbance in the North East states, rain is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura on 3 February. The weather will be clear in the southern states today. The effect of cold is also less here.
Due to snowfall in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, vehicles were covered with snow. Snowfall continues here for the last 3 days.
Snowfall alert issued for Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir for the next two days. The temperature here remains between 0 to 3 degrees.
