The Moroccan newspaper Al-Mukhtab announced the final list of candidates to compete for the “Golden Lion” award, which included a group of “heavy-caliber” professional names in the best clubs on the European continent.
The list included four players from the Moroccan national team, namely Paris Saint-Germain’s French player Achraf Hakimi, Real Madrid’s Spanish player Ibrahim Diaz, and Greek Olympiacos’ player Ayoub El Kaabi, in addition to Al Ain player Sofiane Rahimi.
On the other hand, the list includes the Liverpool star, the Egyptian Mohamed Salah, and his compatriot Mohamed Abdel Moneim, who moved from the Egyptian Al-Ahly to the French club, Nice. It also included two players from Nigeria, namely the Italian Atalanta player, Ademola Lookman, and the German Bayer Leverkusen player, Victor Boniface, in addition to the Côte d’Ivoire national team player. Sufyan Rahimi achieved legendary numbers, the most prominent in his career last season, after he led Al Ain to achieve the AFC Champions League title for the second time in the history of “Al Zaeem”, as the 28-year-old player set a record with Al Ain by contributing to 15 goals (13 goals and two assists).
