Kupwara: Army soldiers carried a pregnant woman on their shoulders for 5 km in the pouring snow in Kashmir. The woman gave birth to a boy. Both are fine.
Pathagad village is located in Kalaruz area of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. The roads leading to this village were blocked by snow due to heavy snowfall. Due to accumulation of snow, the streets became very narrow and vehicles could not pass here. In this case, the army received an emergency phone call from the village of Badakhet yesterday morning. A pregnant woman went into labor and was requested to be admitted to the hospital immediately.
Immediately, the army’s rescue team and medical team rushed to the village of Badakhet. The soldiers rescued the pregnant woman in the pouring snow and carried her on their shoulders for a distance of 5 km. The soldiers loaded the pregnant woman into an ambulance standing by near the Sumo bridge and admitted her to the primary health center in Kalaruz area. There the woman gave birth to a boy.
Both mother and son are fine. The woman’s family and medical staff, the villagers of Badakhet thanked the soldiers for their timely help.
