As a result of a powerful downpour that covered Moscow and the Moscow region, water flooded roads and the first floors of buildings in Zheleznodorozhny, Balashikha and other settlements.
Video from the districts was posted by users of social networks. The footage shows that cars are moving slowly along the roads, and people are walking down the street almost knee-deep in water.
“City services are working in an enhanced mode due to bad weather. Until the end of the day, rain, thunderstorms, hail, wind gusts up to 15 m/s are possible in the capital. In some parts of the city it is already raining and thunderstorms. Brigades of State Unitary Enterprise “Mosvodostok” will eliminate accumulations of water. Moscow’s life support facilities and fuel and energy facilities have been taken under special control.
“We ask motorists to be careful on the road in bad weather, strictly observe the speed limit and distance, pedestrians to be more careful, not to take cover under the trees,” urged Muscovites and residents of the Moscow region in the complex.
