Cricket bats are often made from willow. In this context, it has been suggested that cricket bats could be made of bamboo instead of willow. Dr. Tarsil Shah, a research student at the prestigious Cambridge University in the UK and a former member of the Thai under-19 cricket team, said in a recent study.
“Cricket bats made of bamboo are easy to lift. This can be easily rotated by batsmen. With these types of bats you can easily hit sweeping shots. The balls that hit it move fast towards the boundary, ”said Darsil Shah in his study.
Not believing this thesis, cricket audiences at the University of Cambridge have seen cricket bats made of bamboo. Cricket bats made of bamboo are 22 percent more durable than cricket bats made of willow wood. Cricketers who have played cricket with it have also said that it is easy to lift and spin.
At the same time, these bats, which are a boon to the batsmen, are being consulted on whether it will become a curse for the bowlers as it will help them accumulate more runs. Also, the rule of cricket is a big challenge for these new types of bats. Accordingly, there is a rule that cricket bats must be made of wood. But the challenge is that bamboo has so far been classified as a kind of bull.
