New Delhi. The Prime Minister’s Museum and Library has demanded that the personal letters of the country’s former Prime Minister Pandit Nehru, which were taken by Sonia Gandhi, should be returned. The museum has written a letter to Rahul Gandhi regarding this. These letters were ordered by Sonia Gandhi in 2008 during the tenure of the UPA government.
This letter was written to Rahul Gandhi on December 10 on behalf of Rizwan Qadri, a member of the Prime Minister’s Museum. In this letter, Qadri appealed to Rahul Gandhi to return the letters, photo copy and digital copy given to Sonia Gandhi. Earlier, a letter was also written to Sonia Gandhi by the PM Museum in September.
These personal letters of Pandit Nehru are considered very historical. Earlier these letters were with the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial, which were given to the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library in the year 1971. Now this Nehru Memorial Museum and Library is known as Prime Minister Memorial Museum and Library (PM Museum). The letters sought are based on conversations between Pandit Nehru and great personalities like Edwina Mountbatten, Albert Einstein, Jayaprakash Narayan, Padmaja Naidu, Vijay Lakshmi Pandit, Aruna Asaf Ali, Babu Jagjivan Ram and Govind Vallabh Pant etc.
Now BJP has also reacted on this matter. BJP IT department head Amit Malviya has made a post. In which he wrote that it is interesting! What I found particularly interesting is what might Nehru have written to Edwina Mountbatten that warranted such censorship and would Rahul Gandhi take any steps to get these letters back?’
