Kushinagar. Kushinagar police has exposed a big gang dealing in fake notes. Police has arrested 10 members of this gang. 10 pistols and four cotton bombs have been recovered from them along with fake notes worth 5.62 lakhs. Apart from this, two luxury cars and other items have been recovered. The mastermind of this gang is a leader associated with SP.
Police say that the gang was being run by Mohammad Rafiq Ahmed. He is the national secretary of Samajwadi Lohia Vahini. Rafiq Ahmed has 11 serious criminal cases registered against him in various police stations of the district. Other members of the gang Aurangzeb have 8 serious cases registered against him, Naushad has 4 cases registered against him, Parvez Ilahi has 8 cases registered against him, Sheikh Jamaluddin has 4 cases registered against him and Niazuddin alias Munna has many cases registered against him.
These criminals used to deal in fake notes in the border areas of UP-Bihar. This gang has links with Nepal. The police team conducted intensive checking and arrested 10 vicious criminals who were smoothly transacting fake notes by mixing them with Indian currency and buying and selling fake notes and sent them to jail. On the basis of recovery and arrest, further legal action is being taken by registering a case under BNS and 3/25 Arms Act and 5 Explosive Substances Act at Tamukhiraj police station.
Fake notes worth 5.62 lakh, Rs 1.10 lakh Indian currency converted from fake currency, Nepal currency worth Rs 3,000, 10 pistols of 315 bore, 30 live cartridges, 12 fired empty cartridges, 4 country-made bombs, 13 mobile phones with 26 fake SIM cards, 10 fake Aadhar cards, 10 ATM cards, 8 laptops used in crime and 02 luxury four-wheelers used in crime have been recovered from the gang dealing in fake notes.
