Moscow “Spartak” will not apply to the expert-judging commission of the Russian Football Union (ESK RFU) in connection with the cancellation of Alexander Sobolev’s goal in the match of the 18th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL) with Ural. This was announced on March 4 by the head of the press service of the club Dmitry Zelenov.
“We do not plan to apply to the ESC. The error, from our point of view, is so obvious that the judiciary will independently assess the episode. As far as we know, such an opportunity is provided, and this will be done, ”TASS quotes him as saying.
Earlier that day, Spartak played a draw with Ural. Their meeting ended with the score 2:2. As part of Yekaterinburg, goals were scored by Rai Vlut and Eric Bikfalvi. Ruslan Litvinov from Spartak answered with a double.
At the same time, at the end of the meeting, the chief referee Vitaly Meshkov mistakenly stopped the game, as a result of which Sobolev’s goal was not counted, although none of the Spartak players violated the rules in this attack, Sport-Express reports.
The head of the refereeing department of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Pavel Kamantsev, noted that Meshkov is not in danger of being suspended for decisions made during the match. He admitted that the referee’s actions were a methodological error.
