Spike van Zoest therefore completely forgot to adjust his grade upwards. “I have an eight. I was too busy dancing, I think,” he confesses afterwards. As a result, the David Bowie tribute band Starman finished just above the ElvisMatters Band, but that does not matter for the final spot next week.

Nevertheless, Van Zoest also had some criticism of the performance. “I found it a bit slow at the beginning. It started out a bit messy. Then you picked up steam. It’s really amazing what you put up. In the Netherlands we quickly think: isn’t that a bit too much bravura? But if you want to portray Elvis, you have to do that.” Angela Groothuizen was completely lyrical. “What an act! What was this? I don’t mind at all that it’s a little messy. It lived and it sucked. I want to see this in the Ziggo. I think a star is born here, when the Netherlands finds out how well you can sing. And there is a very nice band around it. Ridiculously good!”

The final is next week The tribute: the battle of the bands. In it, the groups compete for a place during a concert in the Ziggo Dome. The number 1 gets the most playing minutes.
