“Spineless in Congress”: Ghulam Nabi Azad | Ghulam Nabi Azad blames Rahul Gandhi for exit, says once you are in Congress, you are spineless

New Delhi: Veteran politician Ghulam Nabi Azad blamed Rahul Gandhi for his exit from the Congress party and launched a barrage of accusations against the party. Besides, his assertion that no one is untouchable in politics only strengthens suspicions that he might lean towards the BJP.

Ghulam Nabi Azad, who published his autobiography titled ‘Azad’, assured that he would never return to the Congress. And reporters ask if Rahul Gandhi is the reason to quit Congress, of course. If you are in Congress you have to be spineless. He said that you will be operated on there.

From his interview: Rahul Gandhi is the reason for leaving the Congress party. If you are in Congress you have to be spineless.

During the UPA’s second term, then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh remained silent when Rahul threw out an ordinance brought by the government to overturn a Supreme Court order disqualifying MPs and MLAs convicted in criminal cases. The Congress party was silent then. Had that law existed, Rahul would not have reached this position today. It would have been useful today to whoever plucked it. How is it fair to punch a hole in the wall of your house and shout that outsiders are looking through it? That is what Congress is doing.

I’m 2000 percent more Congressman than politic on Twitter. I am a 24 carat Congressman in terms of my principles. They don’t even get 18 carats. Sonia Gandhi did not invite me again after I left the party. If Sonia Gandhi had the decision-making powers, I would not be standing here alone today.

I will not join Congress again. They don’t need people like me. They need people who are fast on Twitter. All they need is people who say on Twitter that Congress will win 500 seats because of Indian Unity Yatra.

Questions arise whether I will join the BJP for the Jammu and Kashmir state elections. No one is untouchable in politics. Thus spoke Ghulam Nabi Azad.

Congress condemns: Condemning this speech of Ghulam Nabi Azad, Congress media wing chief Pawan Khera said that Ghulam Nabi Azad is now following the policy which he opposed for 50 years. He was looked upon as a god by the Congress workers. But now he has proved to be a clay doll. The Congress party gave it to him. He curses the party today. He has betrayed the party after 50 years. How can the party trust the volunteers anymore? He criticized that he has been a slave to someone while chanting freedom, freedom for the last two days.
