San Francisco. Music streaming platform Spotify has said that it is shutting down its live-audio app – ‘Spotify Live’. However, the company said it will continue to explore the live feature on its core platform, reports TechCrunch.
Music Ally first reported this.
A spokesperson was quoted as saying, “After a period of experimentation and learning how Spotify users interact with Live Audio, we have made the decision to discontinue the Spotify Live app.”
“We believe the future of live fan-creator interaction is in the Spotify ecosystem. However, based on our learnings, it no longer makes sense as a standalone app,” he added. We’ve seen promising results with focused use cases, which we will continue to build upon to facilitate live interactions between artists and fans.”
As per the report, in April 2022, the company integrated live audio capabilities from its companion app, Spotify Greenroom, within the main Spotify streaming app and rebranded Greenroom as ‘Spotify Live’.(IANS)
