Born on March 1, 1952 in Nidamarru near Mangalagiri, Vidyasagar Reddy made his directorial debut in 1983 with the film ‘Rakasiloya’. Naresh and Vijay Shanthi got their first success with this film.
After that, he directed hit movies like ‘Stuartupuram Dongalu, Ammadonga, Ramasakkanodu’ and became known as a successful director by directing around 35 films in his 40-year film career. Vidyasagar, who has done many films with Suman and Bhanuchander in his career, has also made films with Krishna and Ravi Teja.
The film ‘Ramasakkanodu’ directed by him won three Nandi awards. This movie starring Suman and Maheshwari was released in 1999. And the list of those who worked as assistants with him is long.. Now many of them have become star directors. Especially Srinu Vaitla, VV Vinayak, Ravi Kumar Chaudhary, G Nageswara Reddy and others continue to be successful directors in the industry.
Vidya Sagar Reddy, who served as the president of the Telugu Film Association, was also the president of the Telugu Film Directors Association three times. Meanwhile, many celebrities are condoling his death on social media. It is reported that the last rites will be held in Chennai today evening.
