Nalini and Anand started making traditional snacks in their home kitchen with an investment of just Rs 2000. They also started making crisps with clean taste. Demand for traditional flavored products has increased. Their business experiment was just before Diwali in 2015. Later both of them registered a company called Sweet Karam Coffee India Private Limited. Srivatsan Sundararaman and Veera Raghav also joined the business.
Sweet Karam Coffee has since grown exponentially, becoming a million dollar company by 2022. The firm has received funding of Rs 12.5 crore from Fireside Ventures.
Initially, Nalini and Anand sold traditional South Indian snacks like Madras mix, Athirasam and Madura Muruk through the brand. About 10 different varieties were brought to the market.
Everything from taking orders to marketing and distribution was initially handled by a small team of four. Now there are 35 members in their team.
