Lucknow. Congress had announced the siege of Vidhan Bhawan today during the winter session of the Legislature. Workers from various districts were called to Lucknow. When Congressmen started protesting in Lucknow, the police also started making arrests. Police have arrested Congress state in-charge Avinash Pandey and state president Ajay Rai.
The administration and police had become alert after Congress announced the siege of Vidhan Bhavan. Activist Konark Dixit, who reached near Gate No. 9 of the Assembly with the Congress flag, has also been arrested. Strict security arrangements have been made in and around the state headquarters of Congress, barricades have also been installed.
State President Ajay Rai alleges that the government is trying to stop the workers by intimidating them through the police. Police have installed sharp barricades outside the party headquarters (Congress) as part of a conspiracy to kill the workers. Such barricades have been installed to protect the lives of workers.
Ajay Rai said that for the first time in the state, an attempt is being made to stop any movement by installing barricades with such sharp spears. Pressure is being created by giving notices to leaders, officials and workers in various districts. (Ajay Rai) Rai said that Congress will not back down from the siege of Vidhan Bhavan. As per the scheduled programme, the workers will march to surround Vidhan Bhavan on issues like electricity privatisation, unemployment, inflation and other issues. Congress will raise its voice against the dictatorial attitude of the government.
