Sikkim. The earth shook early this morning in Soreng, Sikkim. Strong tremors of earthquake were felt in the area. Its intensity was measured at 4.4 on the Richter scale. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), earthquake tremors were felt in Soreng at 6.57 am.
The epicenter of this earthquake is being reported to be Soreng area of Sikkim. So far there is no news of any casualties. Earlier in India, according to the National Center for Seismology, an earthquake of 3.7 magnitude on the Richter scale occurred in Kamjong, Manipur on August 6.
Local people say that strong tremors of earthquake were felt in Sikkim. Due to fear, many people came out of their houses. People came on the streets. Some people woke up from their sleep due to the tremors of earthquake. So far, there is no news of loss of life or property.
