As the clashes with the Rapid Support Forces continued in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, and other states in the country, the army announced that the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, nicknamed Hamidati Fard al-Har, and his forces are targeting members of the armed forces.
He said in statements to Al-Arabiya / Al-Hadath today, Saturday, that the Rapid Support Forces are seeking to reach power.
The army also added that the RSF had become rebellious, adding: “We regret what the country has reached because of the RSF rebels.”
To that, he stressed that he would lead his battle with merit, and “we are on the first day of fighting.”
“There was no choice”
The army commander, Abd al-Fattah al-Burhan, had confirmed that the rapid support forces started the battles this morning, stressing that “the armed forces have enough to defeat these rebels.”
He also made it clear in statements to Al-Arabiya / Al-Hadath that the support rebels sought to quickly take control of army headquarters and vital areas at dawn, and even carry out assassinations.
He stressed that “the armed forces had no choice but to confront the rebels’ aspirations for power,” as he put it.
Patiently manages operations
In addition, he pointed out that the army is managing operations against the Rapid Support Forces patiently, to prevent any casualties.
“The army has sufficient forces and will to defeat the rebels,” he stressed.

These statements came after the army confirmed earlier that its military operations were continuing against the headquarters of those forces led by Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, nicknamed Hamidati, pointing out that the Rapid Support Forces had handed over their headquarters in several areas.
He explained in a statement that the support forces in the camps of the states of Gedaref, Kassala, Hamishkoreeb and in some bases in the capital had surrendered themselves and their weapons to the armed forces, stressing that they would be treated with respect.
It is noteworthy that those clashes, which erupted today, claiming dozens of injuries and deaths on both sides, erupted despite the confirmation of Al-Burhan and Daglo, yesterday, Friday, of their keenness to calm down and not plunge the country into the furnace of conflict.

The disputes between the two military forces began last Wednesday in the Marawi region, after the Rapid Support Forces pushed about 100 military vehicles to a location near the military air base there, which provoked the army, which described this move as illegal, stressing the necessity of withdrawing those forces, which is what Didn’t get it yet.
