Sudan’s Prime Minister: The current conflict is not between military and civilians

Sudanese Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok stressed that the current conflict is not a conflict between soldiers and civilians, but rather a conflict between those who believe in the democratic civil transition from civilians and soldiers, and who seek to block the road ahead from both sides.

Hamdok said on his Twitter account on Sunday that “the unity of the revolutionary forces is the guarantee to immunize the transition from all the threats that stand in its way.”

He also called on all parties to adhere to the constitutional document “strictly”, to stay away from unilateral positions, to assume their full responsibilities, and to display a high patriotic spirit that advances “the interests of our country and our people above all else.”
