Beirut. What happened in Lebanon on Tuesday afternoon shocked not only the Iran-backed Hezbollah extremists but the entire world. Suddenly pagers started exploding in Lebanon. Thousands of people using pagers simultaneously became victims of this explosion. This attack was so big that 9 people died and 3000 people were injured.
Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon is also among the injured. Actually, Hezbollah fighters use pagers instead of mobile phones to avoid Israeli attacks, but they probably forgot that they are facing an enemy that has a dangerous agency like Mossad. Israel also used pagers, which are considered old in technology, for the attack.
Experts say that it seems that Israel had tampered with these pagers before delivery, in which they exploded at a specific time. For some time after the attack, Hezbollah did not understand what was happening. However, later it issued a statement blaming Israel for this and threatened to take revenge.
The source said that Mossad had placed a highly explosive substance PETN on the batteries of these pagers. On Tuesday, these pagers were hacked and exploded simultaneously by increasing the temperature of the batteries. Al Jazeera quoted a Lebanese security source as saying that explosives weighing less than 20 grams were placed in each pager. The pagers that exploded were recently purchased by Hezbollah. Hezbollah leader Nasrallah had ordered the group’s leaders to use cell phones.
