Sultan told «Emirates Today» that “the athletes are required, in addition to their usual evening training with their clubs and their teams, by practicing light training that extends from 30 to 45 minutes before breakfast in the holy month, which contributes to helping to increase mental focus, as well as helping to burn fat, and raising physical activity in a safe way that enhances the elasticity of muscle mass.”
He explained: «Bicycles and light running for short periods, from sports that athletes in general, and basketball players specifically, can resort to their practice before breakfast, in order to avoid sports cases, and help him raise the level of fat burning, and of course, to stay away from fatty meals and large food quantities for breakfast.
He added: «Encouraging family members to participate in these light sporting activities stimulates the strengthening of family ties during the holy month, as well as encouraging the athlete himself to follow the healthy method of training that motivates him to restore his physical activity after a long day of fasting, especially in working days and job obligations.
Sultan pointed out the importance of food diversity, and distributing breakfast in stages, and said: “Suffice me to eat dates and milk, and small amounts of food and vegetables, at the time of breakfast, provided that I return to take a different amount of food patterns after Tarawih prayers, which gives me to maintain a greater effectiveness of physical activity, away from inactivity, when taking the usual evening training in the club.”
He continued: «Focusing on large quantities of water and juice is extremely important, especially after the stressful evening training, and after the period of exercises it preferred to focus on snacks, focusing on carbohydrates in dairy and fruit products, along with meals focusing on grains, chips, pasta and pizza, helping to get the muscle mass on the necessary energy.
He concluded: «The holy month is an additional opportunity for the athlete to enhance its physical activity, and to stimulate the new generation around it to move away from harmful customs and physical inactivity that has become a general feature imposed by the absence of sports culture, technological means, video and computer games, and social media sites, especially since staying long periods without movement, its causes are not limited to increasing obesity rates, but in their negative effects on the low rates of mental focus And hemoglum, and avoiding the practice of activities that enhance family ties. ”
