New Delhi: Union Law Minister Kiran Rijiju has said that the Supreme Court Collegium’s release of intelligence agencies’ reports is a matter of great concern.
The Central Government has rejected some of the names recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium for appointment as High Court Judges. After the same names were suggested again, the reports of intelligence agencies IP and RAW were shared with the collegium as to why those names were rejected.
However, the collegium in its resolution issued last week cited parts of these reports. With this, part of IB and Rao’s statement has become public.
Union Law Minister Kiran Rijiju, responding to a question raised by reporters, said, “It is worrying that the Supreme Court collegium has shared the secret reports of spy agencies IP and RAW in the public space. This is a matter of great concern.
Those working in IB and RAW carry out intelligence work for the country. If they know that the report they give to the government will be published in the future, they will think twice before giving the report. I will give a detailed answer in this regard at the right time,” he said.
