Chandigarh. Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s troubles once again seem to be increasing. In the year 2002, CBI has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the bail of Ram Rahim in the Ranjit Singh murder case. After which the court has issued notice.
On Friday, the Supreme Court sought response from Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and four others on the CBI’s appeal. In this appeal, an appeal was made against his acquittal in the 2002 murder case. A bench of Chief Justice of the country Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar issued notices seeking replies from those acquitted in the case.
Let us inform that the CBI has challenged the order passed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on May 28, 2024, in which Singh and four others were acquitted in the murder case of former sect manager Ranjit Singh. Five people, including Gurmeet Ram Rahim, were accused of murdering Ranjeet on July 10, 2002, when he was working in the fields near his village in the evening.
While investigating the case, the police had given clean chit to all the accused. Ranjeet is a former member and manager of Dera Sacha Sauda. In this murder case, Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim and other accused were acquitted by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
