Bayern Munich will abandon its coach Julian Nagelsmann, according to the widespread newspaper “Bild” and the sports magazine “Kicker”, just two weeks before the Bavarian team faces Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, in a very surprising move.
The two media indicated that Thomas Tuchel will be the new coach of Bayern Munich.
Tuchel was Chelsea coach and won the European Champions League with him in 2021, before he was dismissed from his position at the beginning of the current season.
According to Kicker, contacts were made between the Bavarian club and Tuchel in order for the latter to assume the task of supervising the Bavarian team.
Before the international break, Bayern relinquished first place in the Bundesliga to Borussia Dortmund by losing to Bayer Leverkusen 1-2, a setback that angered the Bayern management, specifically sports director Hassan Salihamidzic.
The Bavarian team will face Manchester City on April 11 at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, before receiving it eight days later.
