Surya Grahan: Rare Hybrid Solar Eclipse On April 20.. Again After 140 Years.. Unique

There will be four eclipses in total this year.. two solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses. First solar eclipse is occurring on April 20 i.e. Wednesday. The first solar eclipse will begin at 7:04 AM on Thursday, April 20 and last until 12:29 PM. However, scientists said that this eclipse will not be visible in India. It is said that it can be seen only in countries like Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea in the South Pacific Ocean. A rare hybrid solar eclipse will occur on April 20. The eclipse is called a hybrid eclipse because of its narrow path. This is why it is considered a rare eclipse. During a hybrid solar eclipse the Sun is blocked by the Moon. This type of eclipse changes from a total solar eclipse to an annular (ring-shaped) one as the Moon’s shadow moves across the Earth’s surface. The last time this hybrid solar eclipse occurred was in 2013. Again such an eclipse will be visible only after 140 years. It will be formed on March 23, 2164.

A total solar eclipse will be visible in North West Cape, Western Australia. The eclipse will be broadcast live by the American space agency NASA and the Gravity Discovery Center and Observatory in Australia. Direct viewing of a solar eclipse can lead to permanent blindness. The rays that reach the Earth during an eclipse are the most dangerous. They hurt our eyes when we see an eclipse at that time. So view with the help of binoculars or telescope, filter glasses.

When the Moon comes between the Earth and the Sun, the shadow completely or partially covers the Sun is a solar eclipse. When the Moon and the Earth come between the Sun and the Moon, a lunar eclipse occurs. It happens on Amavasya and Full Moon days. However, not every new moon and full moon have eclipses. However, the first lunar eclipse will occur exactly 15 days after the solar eclipse, i.e. on May 5. The second solar eclipse will occur on October 14 this year. It is also not found in India.
