The Federal Security Service, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian Guard, detained five men in the city of Alexandrov, Vladimir Region, suspected of illegally acquiring and storing weapons. At the disposal of “Izvestia” were shots from the moment of detention.
“During searches in the house of the suspects, law enforcement officers found and seized 38 firearms, including two AK-103 assault rifles, two PM-63 RAK submachine guns (Polish-made weapons), 30 pistols and revolvers,” the press release said. service of the Russian Guard on the official website.
The men also kept two Saiga-9 carbines, a sawn-off Izh-58 hunting rifle, a Mosin rifle, and almost 6,000 cartridges of various calibers. The detainees acquired the entire arsenal without permission.
Weapons and ammunition were seized. The suspects were arrested in March of this year.
On May 17, the FSB, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard, identified 165 underground gunsmiths. Almost 400 weapons were confiscated from them. At the same time, more than 59 kg of explosives (gunpowder, TNT) were found.
Earlier, on March 7, the security forces closed 23 underground workshops for the modernization of weapons and the manufacture of ammunition in 27 regions of Russia. Searches were carried out at the addresses of illegal gunsmiths, as a result of which 118 firearms were seized.
