The referee decided to meet Olympique de Beji, winner of the Tunisian Football Cup title for the current season, and its guest, Club Africain, in the eighth round of the coronation group in the Tunisian Premier League, today, Wednesday, to stop the match after assaulting the African coach.
The match was stopped in the 16th minute, after Saeed Al-Saibi, the coach of the African Club, suffered a head injury after stones were thrown at him.
The African players had left the stadium, after their coach was taken to the hospital, while the refereeing staff left, escorted by security personnel, to stop the match temporarily before the match referee made his decision to end the match.
Before this meeting, Club Africain was equal to Al-Ittihad Monastir with 15 points in the second and third places, while Etoile Sahel leads the standings with 20 points.
Olympian El-Baji ranks seventh with 10 points.
The regulations of the Tunisian Football Federation stipulate that in the event of an attack by the fans, the home team loses 2-0 and is fined 20,000 dinars ($6,412) and punished by holding its next three matches outside its stadium without the presence of the fans, with no possibility of appealing the penalty. .
This clause was applied this season to three clubs, namely Hilal Chebba (in the Esperance match), the Tunisian stadium (in the coastal star match) and Gafsa Gafsa (in the Zarzis club match).
