The Nellore District Revenue Department is being hunted successively against the corrupt officials. Collector KVN Chakradharbabu, who recently suspended Buchireddypalem MMORP, recently suspended Venkatachalam MMOR Nagaraju, Thotapalli Guduru MMOR Hamid, Gudlur MMOR Lavanya. In this regard, the Collector issued an order on Tuesday night.
The investigation revealed that officials who are used to corruption are committing irregularities such as tampering with revenue records, giving compensation by showing government lands as patta lands, and finally showing the forest department lands as patta lands in Marripadu area. People are also submitting petitions in the final response program on the corruption of MMARVs. Collector Chakradhar Babu who looked into the matter appointed JC Kurmanath as the investigator.
Disturbing truths have come to light in JC’s investigation. In Kaluvai mandal, they showed the government land as private individuals and stood by the trespassers. Government land was mutated in Gudlur mandal. In many places, MMARs who have committed irregularities have been identified and suspended.
The suspension of three MMARs on a single day created a commotion in the revenue department. This matter has become a topic of discussion throughout the district. The JC is preparing notices to interrogate six others. It seems that there are also retired revenue officials. There is a chance that a few more people will be caught if a full-scale investigation is carried out.
