Lucknow, Utkrisht Maurya, son of former Uttar Pradesh minister Swami Prasad Maurya, has joined Congress. Priyanka Gandhi has welcomed him by joining the party. Along with Swami Prasad, his son Uttrakash had also filed independent nomination for the Lok Sabha elections from Kushinagar seat.
However, he later withdrew his nomination. Utkrisht, who has been trying to make a place in politics for a long time, will now join Congress politics. Swami Prasad Maurya has been trying to establish his son (Utkrisht Maurya) in politics for a long time. He has made his son contest elections twice from BSP from Unchahar (Rae Bareli) assembly seat of UP but both times Utkrisht Maurya had to face defeat.

At the time of 2022 assembly elections, Swami Prasad (Swami Prasad Maurya) wanted to contest his son (Utkrisht Maurya) from Unchahar for the third time on SP ticket. But SP President Akhilesh Yadav did not give him the ticket. Akhilesh Yadav expressed confidence in his close associate Manoj Pandey and fielded him in the election field.

Now after Manoj Pandey changed camps and joined BJP, Priyanka has included Utkrisht, who contested the assembly elections from Unchahar under Rae Bareli Lok Sabha, in Congress. The coming together of the Maurya family is likely to help Rahul Gandhi in the elections. It is noteworthy that recently, Swami Prasad Maurya’s son Utkrisht Maurya had also sounded the election bugle against his father. On May 14, Uttrakash had filed his nomination as an independent candidate from Kushinagar.
