The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club, Hamid Al-Hooti, confirmed that the Swim for Life League is the first community swimming tournament in the Emirates that is held on a regular basis, aiming to support the water sports sector, including academies, teams and clubs, with equal opportunities, in order to encourage the community to practice swimming. Which is not limited to clubs and academies only, but to all members of society, to maintain health and practice sports.
The Swim for Life League was held in Mohammed bin Zayed City, and witnessed the participation of 540 male and female swimmers from various categories. The tournament also witnessed the participation of the Masters category, and witnessed a large audience attendance.
Hamid Al-Hooti told Emirates Al-Youm: “During this edition at the beginning of the new season, the organizing committee received requests for participation from 3 foreign teams, which is evidence of the strength of the tournament and the desire to participate in the tournaments held in the Emirates.”
He pointed out that the club is currently working to prepare for the final edition of this year’s championship, which is scheduled to be the second international edition of the Abu Dhabi Swim for Life League, during the period from December 13 to 15, 2024, indicating that the organizing committee is looking forward to the participation of 1,000 male and female swimmers in a rich program of competitions.
