Nightdive has announced console versions of System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition.
This improved version of the 1999 immersive sim designed by Ken Levine (Bioshock) was announced in 2019 but does not yet have an estimated release date.
In System Shock 2 we play a soldier who awakens from cryosleep with cybernetic implants on a ship dominated by the AI SHODAN, which has returned 42 years after the events of the original game.
The Enhanced Edition will allow you to play one of the most influential games of its time at up to 4K and 120fps, in addition to correcting bugs, updating gameplay, improving multiplayer cooperative and facilitating the introduction of mods or other content created by fans.
It will also introduce support for controller controls and achievements/trophies to adapt the game to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
