Chennai: UDT 84th Inter-State U-17, U-19 National Table Tennis Tournament started yesterday at Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai.
Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Udayanidhi Stalin was the chief guest and inaugurated the tournament. On the opening day, Tamil Nadu beat Telangana 3-1 in the women’s U-19 team category.
In the first match, Tamil Nadu’s Kavya defeated Satya Aspathi 9-11,11-7,10-12,11-3,11-9. In the 2nd match, Bavitha of Telangana defeated Amrutha of Tamil Nadu by 4-11,11-9,11-5,5-11,11-9.
In the 3rd match, Tamil Nadu’s M. Hansini easily defeated Baluru Jalani by 11-4, 11-9, 11-8. In the 4th game, Tamil Nadu team registered a victory to beat Kavya and Bavitha of Tamil Nadu.
