Delhi: The Union Ministry of Power has directed all the state governments to take steps to import coal.
There is a severe shortage of coal across the country. Due to this, many power stations have stopped generating electricity. Thus power cuts have been implemented in many states. Union Home Minister Amit Shah held consultations on the issue a few days ago. As a result, 1100 train journeys have been canceled to run coal trains faster.
In this situation, the Ministry of Power has said that action should be taken to import coal.
