Chennai: The 47th Junior and Youth National Carrom Championship organized by All India Carrom Federation was held in Maharashtra. M. Kasima from Chennai stood first in the girls category. 2nd place was won by Shalu Kumari (Bihar) and 3rd place by Kasan Nirkan (Maharashtra).
K.Naveen Kumar from Tirupur, Tamil Nadu stood first in the boys category. A. Abdur Rakim and M. Mithun from Chennai took the 2nd place. L. Keerthana from Chennai stood 3rd in the girls’ junior category.
Vidarbha’s Guru Charan topped the men’s junior category. Dushyant Gupta from Maharashtra bagged the 2nd place and Shipdayal Yadav from Uttar Pradesh bagged the 3rd place. D. Felix from Dindigul, Tamil Nadu stood 4th.
Tamil Nadu won the gold medal in the girls category in the team championship. Won bronze medal in boys category. Overall, Tamil Nadu male and female players won 8 gold, one victory and 7 bronze medals in this series.
