Exiled BJP Goshamahal MLA Rajasingh’s wife Ushabai met Telangana Governor Tamilisai on Sunday. She asked the governor to give justice to her husband saying that the police had imposed a PD Act on him and imprisoned him illegally. Along with her sisters, Ushabai came to the Raj Bhavan and handed over the petition to the Governor. He alleged that the Hyderabad police took the law into their hands and registered many cases illegally and eventually booked him under the PD Act and detained him in jail. She said that she is fighting to get justice for her husband who is languishing in jail. On this occasion, she asked the Governor to intervene in this matter and strike down the PD Act against MLA Raja Singh.
BJP leaders and MLA Rajasingh warned that if the Hyderabad Police and the Telangana government gave permission to stand-up comedian Munavar Farooqui’s performance recently, they would block it. Due to this, the police provided heavy security to Munawar Farooqui’s show. But Rajasingh asked the government how Munawar Farooqui, who had spoken insultingly about Hindu deities in the past, would give permission to the show. In this order, objectionable comments were made to hurt the sentiments of Muslims. This created a tense atmosphere in many areas along with the old city of Hyderabad. Complaints were registered in the police stations to arrest Rajasingh.
The police arrested Rajasingh and took him to jail. In view of his controversial comments in the past, the PD Act was implemented against him. As a result, he has no chance of getting bail. It was in this order that she met the Governor of Telangana became a priority. It will be interesting to see how Governor Tamilisai reacts to her petition.
